| | Willful disobedience of custody terms outlined in a court order. | A parent did not return a child at a specified time, per a child custody order. |
| | Unwanted phone calls of an annoying, harassing or threatening nature. | Immediate hang-ups, obscene language, etc. with no known suspects. |
| | An unknown person assumes your identity. | Unknown person obtains a credit card or some other goods or service by use of your personal information (such as: name, Social Security number, date of birth, etc.). |
| | When property is taken without your permission. | Items stolen from your yard, driveway, porch or other common shared areas such as garages or laundry facilities of apartment complexes. Any property known to be stolen or missing but not lost. Please use the Vehicle Break In report type if items were stolen from inside a vehicle. |
| | Property that has been lost or misplaced. You may also use this report if you have found the property that was originally reported as lost to the Poughkeepsie Police Department. | Personal items that are missing with no indication they were stolen, i.e. left at a restaurant or other public place. Often insurance companies or third parties request a report number. |

| | This report type is for providing additional information only to an original report. | Your original report was a Burglary and days later you discover additional items stolen. Or if in your original Larceny report you missed reporting some items that were stolen and you want to amend your report. |
| | This report type should only be used to inform the Poughkeepsie Police Department that you have located or recovered property you previously reported as stolen. If you have found property that you reported as LOST please use the Lost Property Report Type. | You determine your friend or family member actually had items you thought were stolen. You have found, located or recovered the computer you originally reported online as stolen from a vehicle. |
| | Mischievous or malicious destruction of property or causing damage to property. | "Keying" a car's paint finish; broken windows; defacement of property, having eggs, shaving cream or toilet paper thrown at house , graffiti, slashing tires, destroying property. |
| | The unwelcome and unauthorized entering of a person into a privately owned vehicle(s). | Unknown person smashes a car window and removes property. Force or No Force is used to enter the car. The Car is rummaged through something or nothing is taken. |
