Incident Type	Definition	Examples
Animal Complaint	A complaint regarding the neglect or treatment of an animal.	Animals running loose on your property or in your neighborhood, nuisance barking or aggressive animals.
Dumping Complaint	The illegal dumping of junk, trash or refuse at any location.	When a person illegally dumps junk, trash or refuse at any location.
Fraud	Obtain credit, goods or services by deception or false identity.	Someone obtains a credit card using your S.S.N. or obtains phone service using your personal information.
Harassing Phone Call	Unwanted phone calls of an annoying, harassing or threatening nature.	Immediate hang-ups, obscene language, etc.
Lost Property	Property that is missing, leaving items in restaurant, or missing from home. Lost vehicle registration plates CANNOT be reported through online reporting; contact 410-313-2200 to speak with an officer.	Property that is missing, leaving items in restaurant, or missing from home. Includes lost vehicle registration plate(s).
Police Information	Any criminal information that may assist Law Enforcement in solving a crime	Joe Smith at 1234 Blue Street is dealing drugs
Solicitor Complaint	A complaint or inquiry pertaining to solicitors or peddlers.	An inquiry regarding laws pertaining to solicitors or peddlers or identification requirements for solicitors and peddlers. A complaint against a solicitor or peddler.
Theft	Property known to be stolen and missing may be reported. Lost property is not a theft. Theft From Shed/Garage	Items taken from shed or garage without owners permission.	Your shed or garage was broken into, property was damaged, tampered with or stolen and the shed/garage was NOT ATTACHED to the house.
Theft From Vehicle	Stolen equipment or belongings from a vehicle. Stolen vehicle registration plates CANNOT be reported through online reporting; contact 410-313-2200 to speak with an officer.	Stolen equipment or belongings from a vehicle.
Unauthorized Use of Vehicle	The unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.	If someone has taken or used your vehicle without your permission and you know who the person is. If the vehicle has not been returned to you, the Police Department will not enter the vehicle as stolen unless you have obtained a charging document from the Court Commissioner charging the individual responsible with unauthorized use.
Vandalism	The act of changing, modifying or defacing public or private property.	Graffiti, knocking over mail box, throwing rock through windows, etc.
Vandalism of a Motor Vehicle	Tampering with a motor vehicle.	Keying, broken windows, or attempts to remove parts.
