There are several different incident types that can be entered using the internet. Please select one from the list below and continue. If the incident you are reporting has a known suspect, you should instead call us.

Incident Type	Definition	Examples
Defrauding an Innkeeper	Leaving restaurant or hotel/motel without paying for services rendered.	A person eats at a restaurant and leaves without paying.
Disturbing the Peace	Any person who causes willful intrusion of public peace.	A person is playing loud music at an unreasonable level. A person challenges another person to fight in a public place or curses at another person.
Harassing Phone Calls	Any unwanted electronic communication of annoying, harassing or threatening in nature that does not serve a lawful purpose. (Via phone, text or email.) If suspect is known, a report cannot be completed online and requires a deputy response.	Immediate hang up calls, obscene phone calls or threatening phone calls when the suspect is unknown.
Identity Theft	Obtaining someone else’s personal identifying information (social security number, driver’s license number, date of birth, etc) to obtain credit, goods or services. Do not use incident type unless your identification has actually been used.	Someone uses your social security number to obtain an automobile loan.
Illegal Dumping	A person failed to dispose of discarded materials in a proper manner or in a proper place.	Trash is dumped on your property or in a public right of way/highway.
Information Only	Report of incidents that are not criminal in nature.	Any information you wish to have on file or documented with the police department with no expectation of contact or follow-up.
Lost Property	Property lost or missing.	You misplaced your cellular telephone and your provider requires a police report in order to replace it.
Noise Violation	Person creates a public nuisance by causing loud noises in violation of public ordinances.	Plays radio too loud. Operates construction equipment outside normal operating hours. Operates public address system in an improper manner. Barking dog(s).
Shoplifting	Theft of property from a commercial establishment when the establishment is open during normal business hours. Do not use this incident type if the suspect used force or violence in taking the merchandise; these situations require a deputy response.	An unidentified customer takes merchandise from a store without making any effort to pay for it. A customer takes money from the cash register and leaves the store with it.
Tamper with Motor Vehicle	Someone tampered with a vehicle as a whole or breaks or removes parts of a vehicle.	Someone took your hood ornament, or opened your glove box and looked inside. Someone attempted theft or internal damages caused by an attempted theft like ignition/steering wheel column, exposed wires etc.
Theft	Your property is taken without your permission. Do not use this incident type if property was taken from inside residence or building; use burglary offense. If theft was from a motor vehicle, use theft from vehicle offense.	Someone stole your child’s bicycle from the front yard.
Theft From a Vehicle	Property is stolen from a motor vehicle.	Your car stereo has been stolen from the dashboard of your car.
Trespassing	Any person who enters or remains on the property of another, without permission or right to do so.	A person remains on private property not belonging to them after being told to leave.
Vandalism	Damaging, destroying or defacing private or public property.	Graffiti was found painted on a retaining wall. Someone knocked over your mailbox.
Vandalism of a Vehicle	Tampering, damaging or defacing a motor vehicle.	Someone keyed the side of your car, broke its window, slashed its tires, etc.
Vehicle Burglary	Any unlawful entry into a locked vehicle or locked storage container secured to a vehicle. If there is any known suspect and or evidence to collect do not file this report online and instead contact the Communication Center (661-861-3110)?	Stolen equipment or belongings from a locked vehicle or toolbox.
