Incident Type	Definition	Examples
Burglary	Entering a building or structure unlawfully with the intent to steal property	Property removed from a locked or unlocked home or business. Please contact our Dispatch Center at 707-552-3285 to confirm you are eligible to make this report online.
Burglary (Vehicle)	Property is stolen from a secured vehicle (forced entry was used).	The window was smashed and a purse was stolen.
Custody Order Violations	Someone violates the conditions of a child custody order. Beginning and end dates of custody must be specified.	Failure to pick up or drop off child/children for/from scheduled visitation as outlined by court order. PARENTAL ABDUCTION IS A SERIOUS CRIME AND CANNOT BE REPORTED ONLINE. IF YOU SUSPECT ABDUCTION OF YOUR CHILD, CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. Falsely reporting a parental abduction is also a crime.
Forgery	Signing the name of another or fictitious person with the intent to defraud	Making, altering, forging or counterfeiting checks, credit cards, etc.
Harassing Phone Call and/ or Electronic Communications	Unwanted phone calls, text messages, or other electronic communication of an annoying, harassing or threatening nature.	Immediate hang-ups, obscene language via phone, text, internet, social media, etc. with no known suspects beyond Username, and/ or phone #.
Identity Theft	Obtaining someone else's personal identifying information and using it to obtain credit, goods or services.	Someone obtains credit, a service or makes a purchase using your name AND a personal identification number (such as your date of birth, Social Security or Driver License number) with no known suspects.
Lost Property	When property is lost.	You lost your cell phone/wallet/keys/etc.
Non-Injury Hit and Run	Hit and Run where no one was injured.	Someone hit your parked car and did not leave contact information.
Supplemental Report	You can use this form to add information to previously filed reports.	You discover additional items are missing after your report has been approved, you learn new information related to your previous report that was approved, etc.
Theft	When property is taken without your permission. This does not include someone physically taking something from your person.	Items stolen from your yard, driveway, porch or other common shared areas such as carports or laundry facilities of apartment complexes.
Theft from Vehicle	Property is stolen from a motor vehicle when the vehicle was left unlocked (no forced entry).	Stolen equipment from the bed of a pick-up truck or stolen purse from an unlocked vehicle.
Vandalism	When someone damages your property.	Someone smashed your car window causing it to break.
Vehicle Accident	A traffic accident where both parties have exchanged information. Before starting your online report, please make sure you have your car and driver’s license information and the other driver’s car and driver’s license information if another case was involved. Enter the person and vehicle information in the appropriate section, not just in the narrative.	You have been in a minor accident with another person where there are no or minor injuries, you have exchanged information and require or desire a police report. Vehicle Tampering	When someone breaks or damages a part of your vehicle.	When someone breaks the antenna or cracks the mirror.
