Incident Type	Definition	Examples
Cold Burglary	Burglary, Residence, Attempted Forcible Entry Burglary, Residence, Unlawful Entry Burglary, Non-Residence, Attempted Forcible Entry Burglary, Non-Residence, Unlawful Entry	The attempted forced entry into a residence with the intent to commit a felony or Theft. The unlawful entry to into a residence with the intent to commit a felony or theft. The attempted forced entry into a business with the intent to commit a felony or theft. The unlawful entry to into a business with the intent to commit a felony or theft.
Extra Patrol Requests	Due to a specific traffic related problem or situation, extra traffic enforcement requests may be submitted.	Observed speeding in a specific area at specific times of the day or night if no immediate danger exists.
Harassment	Any act that knowingly and maliciously is meant to harass another person can meet the definition of harassment. This includes harassment in person, over the phone, through text or email, or through another person.	Only used to report harassment of Non-Domestic relationships. To place another person in reasonable fear of bodily harm through use of threatening words and or other conduct but without displaying a weapon or subjecting the victim to actual attack.
Identity Theft	When someone uses your personal information to obtain a credit card, etc.	Someone opens up a line of credit using your personal information.
Lost Property	When property is missing or lost. Items that have been lost or found with the exception of reporting lost cell phones. We do not take reports on lost cell phones.	Items left in a restaurant, etc. Any property that is lost or found.
Shoplifting	Theft of merchandise for sale in a shop or a retail establishment.	Entered the store and observed taking property belonging to the store. Left the store with the property belonging to the store without attempting to pay for the property.
Theft	When your property is taken without your permission with no suspect information. This does not include someone physically taking something from your person. Do not use if entry into your home/business was forced (breaking a window, door, etc...). If your house or garage has been burglarized call 911. If you’re vehicle has been stolen, DO NOT report it online – Please call 911 to make a vehicle theft report.	Property known to be stolen may be reported. Lost property is not a theft.
Theft from Auto	When your property is taken from a vehicle without your permission with no suspect information. This does not include someone physically taking something from your person. Do not use if entry into your vehicle was forced (breaking a window, door, etc...).	Property known to be stolen may be reported. Lost property is not a theft.
Vandalism	To willfully or maliciously destroy, damage, deface, or otherwise injure real personal property without consent of the owner or person having custody or control of it.	If someone spray paints your fence, destroys or defaces any public or private property.
